The Future Is...
The Future Is… gathers women of different ages and backgrounds to collectively imagine the possibility of something new. Created by Liesel Zink in collaboration with Aunty Roxanne McDonald and Ngoc Phan, The Future Is… involves a series of three pondershops (workshops) where women have a cup of tea, embody ideas, creatively express and recognise the worth of feminine qualities that have traditionally been suppressed. Content generated through the pondershops is then woven together and projected at monumental scale in public space, amplifying the voices of those who have historically been underrepresented.
The Future Is… actively pushes against damaging patriarchal structures by empowering women to reclaim their voices through a process of creative and collaborative imagining. It is deeply and necessarily intersectional, inviting women into a wholesome artistic process that stimulates social discourse while restoring their confidence and desire to contribute ideas for the future.
